Our Achievements

We have contributed ESD (Ecologically Sustainable Development) advice to literally thousands of projects over a period of 30 years. These range from simple detached houses to large multi-unit and multi-level apartment developments. Some of our more notable achievements to date include:

VicUrban’s Aurora Estate (Epping North)

We have had input into the development of 9 sustainable display homes, including 5 7-Star energy rated display homes and over 100 client dwellings at Aurora, the premier sustainable housing estate in Victoria. This included ESD advice, and advice to achieve VicUrban’s Eco-Selector scorecard requirements. Two of the display homes won Housing Industry Association awards for the most energy efficient project home category.

7-Star range of sustainable homes

We have been solely responsible for the development of a dedicated range of 7-Star energy efficient sustainable homes for a major Victorian home builder, the first of it’s kind in Victorian and possibly Australia. This includes 10 designs with a number of size variations, with all designs achieving HIA GreenSmart House Design recognition and certification. With sustainability traditionally seen as an expensive option in house design, this range provided an affordable product for first and second home buyers. A highly successful project, this range of homes now comprises around 50% of all home sales for the builder.

Creekwood Village (Craigieburn)

Creekwood Village at Craigieburn, in Melbourne’s outer north, is a 15 lot development which gained HIA GreenSmart Development accreditation in 2007. All dwellings are 6-Star energy rated, one star above regulation at time of construction. The estate is adjacent to Malcolm Creek, and together with enhancing the energy efficiency of the dwellings, we ensured the development works in harmony with the waterway to maintain and protect the natural environment.

Denton Mills Apartments (Abbotsford)

A heritage-listed Victorian building constructed in the late 1880’s, Denton Mills was refurbished to house over 40 residential apartments. An existing, inefficient building envelope provides a challenge to sustainable design, however we provided ESD advice to ensure all units achieved a minimum 5 Star energy efficiency rating. High levels of insulation, attention to glazing, draught proofing and other sustainability measures enabled the  new dwellings to reach a high level of energy efficiency.
